Sappi had been in their offices in Braamfontein for over 30 years. Spread over 8 floors, they had downsized dramatically, and they also realised that the new talent coming into the company had a different philosophy on how to work. Giant Leap was tasked with introducing new ways of working to Sappi and their staff, to assist them to downsize, and become more efficient in their use of the workplace. The end result is amazing, and Sappi are thrilled.
“Giant Leap were awarded the contract for the interior fit-out after a competitive bid process. They were awarded based on experience, proposal, scope of capabilities and price. Their work for Sappi included the overall design and styling, work flow, space planning as well as assistance with the change management process to assist staff to adapt to the new environment, identifying new methods of work and how to integrate them into the new space, user and space surveys both before and after the move to ensure the new space would address concerns and suggestion as well as ensuring that the design and it-out process complied to the requirements of the Green Building Council of SA to meet Sappi’s objective to receive a green star rating for the interior. The work also had to reflect Sappi’s values, vision and strategic intent. While project with so many phases and role-players have challenges the Giant Leap team remained committed and delivered. The transition was seamless and Sappi continues to receive compliments for its new head office from staff and visitors alike.”
