Grant Thornton’s key message is ‘an instinct for growth’, and that’s what they wanted to convey in their new workspace. They called upon Giant Leap’s expertise to successfully merge both of their Johannesburg offices under one roof while providing a new and refreshed collaborative work space to further optimise creativity and efficiencies for the group. The massive 10,800m2 three storey building positioned at Wanderers Office Park will now be the admired address to more than 470 employees. Giant Leap incorporated activity based workspace areas whereby staff are assigned an open plan desk with immediate access to quiet rooms, collaboration areas and coffee breakaway zones. We were also determined to maximize the endless natural light flooding into the space so that Grant Thornton’s exceptional art collection could be amplified – creating a workspace that is a gallery, as well as an office. Grant Thornton now provides a space which has merged two separate company cultures under one roof, allows for collaboration and privacy to co-exist in a noise-controlled environment and is a great example of an interconnected workspace.
